Wheelchair Lift Installations

Artira Inclined Platform Lift

Fort Greely, Alaska
Fort Greely, Alaska

The Project

The base wanted access to the restaurant on the first floor of a four story building. The main entrance was a split-level type of entry: once entering the door, you could either go up to access the first, second, or third floors, or go down half a flight to access the basement.

Once they learned that the Artira Inclined Platform Lift could be installed to serve only a portion of the floors, they chose to install.

This solution required the use of the compact drive (instead of the standard drive box) in order to provide the room for people to access the remainder of the stairs going up.

The Installation

The Compact Drive Option
The Compact Drive, taking only a few inches of the top landing.

Note: The drive motor and cog are less vandal-resistant in this configuration.

Also note that a controller box must be mounted (in this case, in the landing below) to house the lift controller, since they are not inside the standard drive box.
